"With your head in the clouds" – DDC Annual Event – September 13, 2011

On September 13 we organize our annual event. Registration is open. Click here to register. This event is programmed and sponsored by Microsoft.

“With your head in the clouds”

The cloud versus on-premise; what do we expect? What does the cloud offer more than on-premise for the customer? How can I prepare for the cloud? Topics we will address and discuss in this event.
In addition to the general positioning and future opportunities, we will look at already realized topics related to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. For this we have for you a strong line-up of speakers who will be our guides.

We hope to welcome you on this event and make sure you’re ready to inform your customers on the cloud and jump with solutions that contribute to the success of the customer.

Intro

During this event we’ll have a look at directions in cloud development at Microsoft. We start with an introduction on the cloud by Bram Veenhof (Microsoft, Solution Architect); its benefits and new opportunities for the customer. We will particularly focus on the customer situation and not just the ERP component. We also discuss competencies needed to start picking up and developing such solutions.

Key Sessions

Subsequently, Freddy Kristiansen (Microsoft, Principal Program Manager) will guide us, in two parts, through piloting solutions relating to cloud and related areas, focusing on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV application. We will discuss, among other things.Net, Azure, Web services, Cloud, Windows Phone et cetera.
Freddy Kristiansen works for Microsoft as a Principal PM Architect in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV group. He started his professional career in 1983 developing programming languages and development platforms. Before joining Microsoft in 2002, he worked for 11 years as a Developer / Architect at a Danish Software development company. Freddy is deeply involved in the partner programs laid out by the NAV team and is trying to assist partners and ISV’s to adopt new technology – both directly and indirectly through his blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/freddyk) which shows how to take advantage of new features in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Conclusion

We will conclude the event on a best practice case at the English ISV Equisys concerning the integration of Microsoft Dynamics NAV with Microsoft SharePoint online (cloud based solution). Featuring one of their products which will soon be available for “free” for customers on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 standard. This topic will be moderated by Paul Crawley (Equisys, Director).
